A 1.35ha vineyard located above Nuits St Georges. A place that holds its acidity well in the current climate – 380-400m altitude. Only about 1-2 days later maturing than the rest.
A medium depth of colour, with the most interesting perfume to date, a very fine raspberry with a floral topnote. A lovely balance between the fruit and the acidity, a striking elegance and very good length. Excellent. Drink from 2025-2028. (88-90) points, Jasper Morris M.W., Inside Burgundy, January 2024

As I write this, I’ve just returned from judging at the 2025 Tasmanian Wine Show, where this particular wine put in a stellar showing at the pointy end of the trophy judging. Gee it’s lovely. There’s not a hair out of place. Beautifully pure red berry and raspberry fruits with great carry of aroma and […]

It’s full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a multidimensional core of fruit, lively acids and fine, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, perfumed finish. Add to cartIt’s hard to go past the cliche of ethereal, but it is, always. Incredible vibrancy of aromatics with cedar, violets, lavender, dark cherry, blackcurrant, rhubarb, poached plum and sweet Middle Eastern spices. The whole bunch is so controlled, with Asian spices integrating beautifully with silken sheets of black fruits and blueberry. The fruit is so […]

A feature of Farrside is its combination of sweet and savoury spice, flowers and flavoured tobacco. An extremely exotic and singular wine, 2022 sees its uniqueness in the extreme. Fenugreek, cumin, violets, lavender, Turkish tobacco, red fruit compote and blackberry. Prickling with acidity, edgier and more angular than recent vintages, the Farrside’s savoury side on […]
