“This comes from the village sector of Fourneaux for the most part this year. Benjamin deselected the rest where the maturity was blocked. Deep purple with some sturdy dark red fruit. Even this has some somewhat dry tannins, but there is a rich vibrant dark fruit juice too.” 86-89 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Screwcap. The lion’s share of this vintage comes from the outstanding Aux Fourneaux lieu-dit in the north of the village. Leroux works with lots of Pinot Fin here; these vines give low yields and great concentration. Twenty per cent whole bunches were used. The wine was matured in a mixture of foudre and 228-litre Burgundian pieces (20% new) for 14 months.
