“A width of silky, medium sized, aroma. A little like the Volnay – airy and with a different structure/architecture. Here with more concentration and less high-tension activity. This is really a beauty in its contemplative but never heavy or fat style.” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
“A good bright crimson ruby. There is very little bouquet on show as yet. This is intense, youthful, structured, all in red fruit including some cherries. Needs more elevage to get where it is going, but a promising start.” 89-91 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
The lion’s share of Jobard’s Pommard is drawn from a site known as Les Petits Noizons, where the vines are exposed to the southeast on the hill above the 1er cru line. Meanwhile, the evocatively named Rue au Porc climat sits below the village abutting the D974. Across the holdings (which are not large), the average age of vines is around 50 years. It’s deep and fleshy, with ripe tannins and the finesse we now expect of Antoine’s reds.

Classic Tasmanian pinot noir from a great year. Complex red summer fruits. Floral, roses and lavender, with sweet and savoury spice, compost, pine needles and smoke. Plenty of volume and shape, the fruit succulent and juicy – balanced by darker, savoury elements. So much textural flavour complexity, the wine a shape shifter in the glass. […]
Add to cart Producer: MeadowbankLe Dessus de Montchenevoy is located above the famed Savigny 1er Cru Aux Guettes. It’s a west-facing site on white soils that sits at an altitude of 350 metres and is surrounded by trees. The altitude and cool air from the forest help moderate the climate here, resulting in slow ripening and flavour development, while […]
Add to cart Producer: ChanterevesStar anise, sweet English summer fruits, Bresaola, lavender and damp leaf. Sweet and tangy fruits, picked at the perfect moment, serpentine, supple, brooding and haunting. Every sniff and sip reveals something different. Serrano, blood orange, chocolate, Middle Eastern spice and long silky tannins that tighten along the finish. Exquisite balance, the wine in constant motion. […]
Add to cart Producer: BannockburnBeautiful pinot noir from Castle Rock, tasted alongside several older vintages, affirming their great aging potential. A difficult hot year 2023, it’s had to believe that such as pure, supple and translucent wine could be forged from such difficulty. Medium bodied, with the black and hedge fruits mashed with licorice, mace, fennel, pink peppercorns and […]
