“More open higher tones here – pretty floral accents too – that’s fine! Lots of energy and flavour dimension. The flavour is highly accessible and modestly cushioned. Long and interesting, indeed absorbing wine. I love!” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
A very high, cold, rocky, late-ripening site, Montrevenots is at the top of the hill on the Pommard boundary above Clos des Mouches. It’s a south-facing slope, which, to some extent, mitigates the vineyard’s altitude. The white clay and limestone soils here tend to deliver raciness, bright, red fruit notes, and fine, powdery structure. At this stage, Jobard’s Montrevenots is a tiny cuvée, cropped from just one-tenth of the domaine’s 1.4 hectares. This is because he is replanting most of this site with mass-selection cuttings. The parcel in play is historically known as the Clos des Montrevenots, where the vines are 45 years old. Again, all the grapes were destemmed and given a one-week cold soak before fermentation. There is very little new oak, and the wine is bottled after 12 months on lees. It’s a wonderfully bright and mineral Beaune for those who love purity and freshness in their Burgundies.

Sleek, polished and precise. The ‘22 RP is a beautiful garnet colour in the glass. The nose is small red fruits; cranberry, raspberry, red cherry, wedded to loads of spice. Savoury notes of cornichon, a pretty note of red petals all tie in this wonderfully complex wine. Notes of Cola which sounds weird, but I […]
Add to cart Producer: By FarrIt’s hard to go past the cliche of ethereal, but it is, always. Incredible vibrancy of aromatics with cedar, violets, lavender, dark cherry, blackcurrant, rhubarb, poached plum and sweet Middle Eastern spices. The whole bunch is so controlled, with Asian spices integrating beautifully with silken sheets of black fruits and blueberry. The fruit is so […]
Add to cart Producer: By FarrStar anise, sweet English summer fruits, Bresaola, lavender and damp leaf. Sweet and tangy fruits, picked at the perfect moment, serpentine, supple, brooding and haunting. Every sniff and sip reveals something different. Serrano, blood orange, chocolate, Middle Eastern spice and long silky tannins that tighten along the finish. Exquisite balance, the wine in constant motion. […]

A terrific follow up to the excellent 2019 with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, baking spices and plum. Medium bodied, plush, succulent and sappy. The oak frames the wine nicely and is beautifully integrated. It’s delicate and pretty, the fruit sweet and tangy. Tannins are long, drawn out, powdery and soft. Very fine […]
