The 2022 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette has a crisp and delineated bouquet brimming with energy. Lively red fruit seems to leap from the glass. The palate is beautifully built, svelte tannins matched with a silver bead of acidity, very harmonious with a lightly spiced and persistent finish. This has a bit of Liam-Gallagher-like swagger about it—nothing wrong with that in my book. 92 points – Vinous
Corcelette’s soils are of sandy pink granite. Facing south-east with a high elevation of 470 metres, the wines are some of the prettiest in Beaujolais. Beautiful aromatics. Raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and plum. The palate is ever so bright. Once again red fruits, with a medium weighted palate that’s so vibrant it’s refreshing. I find the tannins powdery and ever present, caressing the fruit from the get go. Not dominating mind, just there. Persistent. The structure is apparent at the front of the palate and runs the length of the wine. Waters Wine Co

Pre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]

Behind this assertive forward barrage, or perhaps layered between it, is a perfumed and pretty musk and confectionary element that gives away it’s carbonic production method. The second sniff is more […]

I cannot get over how beautiful the wines of Chateau des Bachelard’s are. The prices of Beaujolais, like all of French classic wines have increased ridiculously in recent years, and though not cheap, this range of wines are some of the country’s finest. Stunning aromatics of sweet and tangy red fruits. English strawberry, raspberry, dark […]
Read more Producer: Chateau des BachelardsA very rare wine of utmost intensity and exceptional quality, rewarding careful cellaring. Duck Muck was first made by a stroke of luck. Some super-ripe Shiraz was picked from Wild Duck Creek’s Original Vineyard and made into wine, which didn’t quite fill a barrel. The barrel was then topped up with Alan’s Cabernet Pressings, being […]
