The 2022 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette has a crisp and delineated bouquet brimming with energy. Lively red fruit seems to leap from the glass. The palate is beautifully built, svelte tannins matched with a silver bead of acidity, very harmonious with a lightly spiced and persistent finish. This has a bit of Liam-Gallagher-like swagger about it—nothing wrong with that in my book. 92 points – Vinous
Corcelette’s soils are of sandy pink granite. Facing south-east with a high elevation of 470 metres, the wines are some of the prettiest in Beaujolais. Beautiful aromatics. Raspberry, strawberry, cranberry and plum. The palate is ever so bright. Once again red fruits, with a medium weighted palate that’s so vibrant it’s refreshing. I find the tannins powdery and ever present, caressing the fruit from the get go. Not dominating mind, just there. Persistent. The structure is apparent at the front of the palate and runs the length of the wine. Waters Wine Co

The 2017 Vat 6 Tyrrell’s Pinot Noir is gorgeous. It’s nervy and has that fabulous angular structure unique to Tyrrell’s. There is a complexity of flavour that I have not yet seen from this wine. Raspberry, strawberry and cranberry with hints of porcini mushroom and cured meat. There are also wonderful hints of oak spice […]

Wild, sensual and exotic. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, blood plum, lavender and marzipan. Tangy red fruits dominate the palate, but it’s rhubarb that coats it, gifting the wine length and layered texture. Mineral as always, the plum skin and rhubarb texture giving way to velvet. Playful, absorbing. Waters Wine Co Click here for our full […]
Read more Producer: Daniel BoulandAt first quite closed, this has a whole spectrum of citric aromas that slowly open up. Notes of lychee and mangosteen, too. Then comes the wide-screen palate that’s packed with ripe fruit, but still quite tight on the long, very precise finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but better from 2022. 93 Points – […]
Add to cart Producer: WeinbachBouland’s Morgon Bellevue Cailloux 2019 is made exactly the same way as all of the Bouland wines: natural, whole-bunch ferment, concrete tank/foudre élevage and no fining. This is fascinating to compare directly with the Sable (sand) cuvée. Here, there’s more plum and blackcurrant depths, and also a smoky, hot-rocks kind of mineral profile. Long and strong, […]
