For us, this is the easiest wine to drink now. Predominantly red fruits, flowers and very pretty. There is such an easy way about this wine that one can forget how serious it is. The palate is even and integrated, everything in its place. Red fruits, a touch of blueberry, thyme and coal smoke. The tannins are so soft and cashmere like. Persistent and framing but perfectly balanced and threaded into the fabric of the wine. Waters Wine Co
The 2022 Fleurie has a beautifully defined nose with wonderful mineralité like Foillard’s other cuvées, surfeited with energy. There’s real purity and panache. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of mulberry on the entry and fine depth, lightly spiced with a vibrant and persistent finish tinged with curry leaf. This is a Fleurie from the top drawer. Excellent. 2026 – 2036. 92 Points – Vinous
100% Gamay from vines planted on soils of pink granitic sand. Jean has farmed organically from the beginning but has never sought certification. As for the rest, it’s tradition at work: harvesting by hand, vinification of whole bunches, cold carbonic maceration, 9 months of maturation in barrels that have seen several wines, no filtration, and just a light dose of sulphites during racking.

I cannot get over how beautiful the wines of Chateau des Bachelard’s are. The prices of Beaujolais, like all of French classic wines have increased ridiculously in recent years, and though not cheap, this range of wines are some of the country’s finest. Stunning aromatics of sweet and tangy red fruits. English strawberry, raspberry, dark […]
Read more Producer: Chateau des BachelardsThe gamay was grafted onto own rooted cabernet vines, which were planted in 1999. The soil is black cracking clay soil, with a mixture of submerged volcanic pebbles and boulders at one end, and a more friable and slightly more vigorous chocolate-coloured soil at the other. The first fruit was picked during the 2014 vintage. […]
Add to cart Producer: Farr RisingA tiny 0.41 ha strip of vines located at the bottom of Grand Cru Les Clos. More apparent wood is present on the otherwise similar nose. There is however more richness and volume to the slightly bigger-bodied and more concentrated flavors that also brim with sappy dry extract while exhibiting outstanding length on the powerful […]
Add to cart Producer: Christian Moreau‘Big, dark, and bright colour in the glass. The nose is intense dark spice, punchy with a hit of salinity, savoury herbs and graphite. Behind this assertive forward barrage, or perhaps layered between it, is a perfumed and pretty musk and confectionary element that gives away it’s carbonic production method. The second sniff is more […]
