One of Australia’s great cabernets. This from a cooler season highlights and accentuates the typical bright red fruits and blue fruit mix, especially on the nose. It’s aromatic and perfumed with an African violet scent. The palate as always is so exquisitely balanced and refined. Since 1989 the cabernet has been augmented with the floral bright fruit of cabernet franc and the darker robust black fruits of petit verdot. The palate delivers with a gentle restraint yet there is power deep within. The chalky tannins define a long and focused finish. A deceptive medium bodied wine that will cellar for many years. 98 points, Ray Jordon.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon from 1960s planted vines situated in Vine Vale, Barossa Valley. Currently tended to by Wayne Ahrens and Suzie Hilder. The label, much like the wine, is a nostalgic throwback to some labels of old and features the heritage listed church that we use as our winery and sometimes cellar door – “Oddio” in […]
Add to cartDomaine A’s Stoney Creek range is built for earlier drinking, yet they are very serious wines indeed, with a little more fruit weight than their other releases. A 87/9.5/3/0.5% cabernet sauvignon/Merlot/cabernet franc/ petit verdot blend, somewhat reminiscent of St Estephe. Expressive aromatics of cassis, violets, lavender, bay leaf, blackberry, dark cherry and spicy oak. Gorgeous […]
Add to cart Producer: Domaine A WinesThree gorgeous cabernets this vintage from young Joshua Cooper and what a delight: all distinct with their own personalities expressing site. He says this sits at 450m above sea level on the southern granitic slopes of Mount Alexander (Leanganook) looking back towards the Macedon Ranges, and a late ripening site. Dark, inky and enticing with […]
Add to cart Producer: Joshua CooperClassic. Notes of blackcurrant, cherry, plum, oyster shell, mint, quality oak, violets and tobacco. Medium bodied and firm, like the shiraz, this is savoury, the tannins really adding flavour and structure, defining the wine. Old school claret of the left bank. Huge potential. Waters Wine Co Still very much in its infancy, this feels […]
