Organic. Lalù’s Barbera from fruit purchased from Monforte’s San Sebastiano—a site that Lara Rocchetti and Luisa Sala believe is exceptional for this variety. Made with a third each of whole-berry (Leroy style), whole-bunch and destemmed fruit, the wine fermented and was raised entirely in concrete, where it aged for eight months.
Lalù’s is a radiant, linear, focused Barbera that wafts from the glass with shades of fresh red fruit, woody herbs and floral lift. The palate is silky and vibrant with depth and texture, and while it delivers a serious dose of fruit, you’ll find plenty of finesse and mineral freshness, too. A lovely, new-wave Barbera. ‘The Bourgogne vineyards are in Meursault Puligny, Chassagne and St-Aubin. Glowing pale lemon. Crisply attractive, not very reductive, no great weight on the palate, tingling acidity, a little citrus rinse, fair length. Drink from 2026-2028.’ (86-87) Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, October 2025. From vines located in Meursault (40%), Puligny (15%), Chassagne (15%) and […]

Medium- bodied, crunchy, vivid and flavorful, with hints of peaches and grape skin” – 96 points, James Suckling From 3 parcels with a range of sand, clay, and pebble soils. Warmer conditions yielding bolder flavours this year, […]

This cuvée is a blend of fruit from high altitude sites dotted around the village. This includes the brilliantly named Sandgrub vineyard, but also a good dollop of wine from Wasseros (a steep, southwest-facing vineyard that abuts the Gräfenberg vines). The soils of these sites are typically composed of stony, fragmented phyllite interlaced with loess and loam. Raised entirely in […]

Despite the light colour, pouring the wine releases an immense bouquet. I know we’re in for a treat! Expressive and vibrant with plum, cherry, raspberry, blackberry and five spice. Deep, succulent and complex and so much presence and grip. Tannins are very fine, that seem to tighten towards the close. Scaffolding acidity, with the length […]
