Single-vintage tawny from the 2003 vintage, shiraz fortified with brandy spirit and laid down for oxidative aging in old hogsheads. I can sit down and sniff this all day. It constantly shifts, like watching the light and clouds move from a mountain viewpoint. Caramelised dried citrus fruits and rind, rancio, espresso, candied hazelnuts, mahogany, grilled figs sprinkled with brown sugar, praline, layered wood spice, toffee apple, salted caramel, pipe tobacco, brandy snaps and leather. Fresh, viscous and unctuously sweet it unfurls across the palate in slow motion, endlessly complex and rumbles off just as slowly, spice, died fruit and woody tones in its wake. 98 Points – Halliday Wine Companion

Para Grand Tawny epitomises our distinctive house style with a medium-weight profile and aromatic notes of lightly toasted almonds and papery almond skins. Fortified with creamy, aromatic brandy spirit, it develops spiced complexity through extensive aging in seasoned oak. Matured in a modified solera system using 2000L vats, the annual working of the solera ensures […]
Add to cart Producer: SeppeltsfieldThe 2017 Vintage Port, not quite bottled when seen but the final blend, is a field blend (with typical grapes like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca) aged for approximately 20 months in used French oak. It comes in with 98 grams of residual sugar, a little drier on paper […]
Add to cart Producer: FonsecaOn this second look, this Fonseca is still remarkably expressive, lifted and gloriously fresh, even with that slight closing. It has reasonable mid-palate concentration but even better intensity of flavor. Despite that intensity of flavor, it is not quite as sexy as it is in some years, at least not yet, as the tannins are […]
Add to cart Producer: FonsecaAustralia’s most convincing Vintage Port style wine. Utterly consistent and repeated tastings of back vintages have left me in no doubt. Will they go 50, or a hundred, or more? The last vintage from Chris Killeen and one that will live on for at least another couple of decades. Rich, deep and concentrated, showing great […]
