Single-vintage tawny from the 2003 vintage, shiraz fortified with brandy spirit and laid down for oxidative aging in old hogsheads. I can sit down and sniff this all day. It constantly shifts, like watching the light and clouds move from a mountain viewpoint. Caramelised dried citrus fruits and rind, rancio, espresso, candied hazelnuts, mahogany, grilled figs sprinkled with brown sugar, praline, layered wood spice, toffee apple, salted caramel, pipe tobacco, brandy snaps and leather. Fresh, viscous and unctuously sweet it unfurls across the palate in slow motion, endlessly complex and rumbles off just as slowly, spice, died fruit and woody tones in its wake. 98 Points – Halliday Wine Companion

One of the best LBV’s tasted in a long time. I often find them losing a little bit of freshness and bitter notes too apparent. Not a bit of it here, however! Oozing aromatics of blackcurrant, blackberry, mulberry, black cherry, prunes, dates, violets and mint. Luscious and full bodied, some clove and cinnamon, the spice […]

Australia’s most convincing Vintage Port style wine. Utterly consistent and repeated tastings of back vintages have left me in no doubt. Will they go 50, or a hundred, or more? The last vintage from Chris Killeen and one that will live on for at least another couple of decades. Rich, deep and concentrated, showing great […]

“Dark in color, the wine has plenty of tangy tawny character. It is ripe, full and rich with caramel and spice flavors as well as acidity that is finely balanced. This is an attractive wine, ready to drink.” 90 Points – Wine Enthusiast Noval’s Tawny NV is an elegant, fleshy wine with good richness […]

I don’t normally like fizzes aged for long periods on lees but this, disgorged after five years, seems to have hit a sweet spot. Still very primary and super intense with pastry notes, butter, apple, almond cream, lavender, honey, grapefruit, lemon, lime, white peach and cinnamon. Fantastic intensity with great vibrancy, the acidity so lively […]
