Sourced from 25 year old vines in the Grand Cru of Goldtropfchen and aged in Fuder, this is quite simply the best dry riesling at this price in the Mosel. Goldtropfchen is a large and diverse Grosse Lage. It’s gradient, exposure, soils, proximity to the river and elevation is variable, and so is capable of making the greatest variety of wine styles of all the top sites in the Mosel. Quality isn’t so much as variable, for it is a very great vineyard, but some sections will make less compelling dry wines for example, than others. That being said, the wines tend to have a breadth and richness uncommon in the Mosel, and a dark and very complex fruit profile. This is very open in style, as all of Julien’s wines are, with pithy citrus, cream, passionfruit butter, gardenia, quince, earth, smoke and some peach skin grip. Wave upon wave of flavour, fleshy fruit, tension and salt. Ravishing, utterly naked and beautiful, without artifice, just volumes of mouthwatering lusciousness. The greatest riesling maker of them all? Waters Wine Co
“There is general consensus in the informed wine world that the former star pupil of Klaus Peter Keller is one of the greatest talents of the German wine industry in the last 20 years.” – Jancis Robinson MW

Bracing minerals, sliced pears and apples, wet stones and a gently floral edge here. So pure and fresh. The palate has a succulent, powerfully aligned drive of fresh apple and pear flavours with a mouthwateringly fresh stream of acidity. More citrusy at the finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 95 Points – JamesSuckling.com […]

Talk about a giant killer. Rheinhessen’s Morstein makes one of the broadest, densest Rieslings on the planet, and Seehof’s rendition is one of the best. More elegant in style, but wanting for nothing. Citrus, zest, minerals, dried herbs, faint notes of smoke, grapefruit and melon. Bright. Juicy, concentrated and full of tension with ripe, pulpy […]

The palate is linear, chalky and long with the fruit and acidity in perfect harmony. I’m thinking san choy bow would be a great match. I’m guessing it’ll age […]
Add to cartMesh is a collaboration between Yalumba’s Robert Hill Smith and Jeffrey Grosset, two of Australia’s greatest riesling producers. Typical of the vintage, the 2021 has that extra level of concentration. White flowers, mandarin oil, lemon zest and juicy ripe limes. Texturally, there is a chalky/salty mineral feel, that really lifts the finish. Precise, elegant, detailed […]
