The perfect introduction to white wine. A hand-picked mix of some of the best value, top quality whites around!
Six Pack contains 1 bottle each of the following:
Gilbert Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Succulent, pulpy, deep and concentrated, and still maintaining freshness. Bright and vivid flavours of ripe citrus, passionfruit, blackcurrant, yellow peach, apricot, grapefruit and rockmelon. Weight and texture, you really feel like you’re getting something substantial and despite having all the hallmarks of the varietal, utterly delicious for those who preference something else. One of the best sauvignon blancs on the market, and the only one chilling in our fridge.
Fermentation and maturation in oak foudre (20% new) and concrete for seven months; all parcels were left on full yeast lees. Year in, year out this wine manages to achieve a balance between textural architecture and the bright, lively and telltale signs of the variety. Pineapple core, passionfruit curd, edamame and honeydew. On the palate, the wine continues to evolve with a pulpiness of ripe fruit and fullness of mouthfeel. Oak supports the array of fresh produce and leaves you demanding another glass. 95 points – Halliday Wine Companion 2024
Klein Zalze Cellar Selection Chenin Blanc 2022
Tropical stone fruit flavours supported by a burst of citrus on the palate. Well integrated with amazing texture. Drink now or be rewarded for cellaring in about 3 years.
Holly’s Garden Pinot Gris 2022
Stunning contemporary pinot gris. Pear, apple, honeysuckle, apricot and savoury spice. Medium bodied, but packed with presence and flavour, I love that this has not been taken too far. There’s a feeling of restraint despite the abundance. Some creamy notes, custard almost, that reminds me of apple pie, with some rhubarb thrown in for good measure. Crunchy and bright with high country freshness. Bargain.
Juxtaposed Fiano 2022
Intense aromatics of lemon sorbet, fresh herbs, pear, lime marmalade and white bread. Succulent, juicy, tangy and slightly textural, with savoury spice, fig, tarragon and bergamot. Delightfully different, with a round shape, great acid line and chalky/salty finish.
I’ve been following this winery for a time now and enjoying the experience. This cuvée is often an outlier in a sea of soaring aromas, effusive freshness and exceptional value. Now, it joins the leading pack. A single vineyard source. Pickled lemon, quince, raw pistachio, wild fennel and some leesy miso are splayed across a raft of salty acidity, palpably natural and juicy, drawing lovely length dabbed with sweetness. 92 Points, Halliday Wine Companion
Castle Rock Porongurup Estate Riesling 2023
A flagship wine for the brand which they have been making since 1986. So it’s no surprise they have absolutely NAILED it once again. It’s almost like what freshly bathed baby skin smells like, pure and immaculate. Apple blossoms, white nectarine and lychee. Greengage plums, lime pith and quartz. Slippery and nimble on the palate the wine is delicate but mighty in its long flavour length and grip. Gorgeous in its reflective tones and elegant style – drink now and will cellar upwards of 8 years. I’d love to see this served with burrata, tomatillos and smoked salt. Drink now and bask in the splendour of superb Porongurup, because it’s SO hot right now. 97 Points – Winepilot
La Petite Mort Chardonnay 2022
Gorgeous spicy, cedary French oak blends seamlessly with pithy, pink grapefruit and ripe tangelo notes in this bold, yet balanced, expression of new-school Australian Chardonnay.
