Fruit aromas are typical Moss Wood – ripe peach, combined with a zesty note similar to cumquat marmalade. These combine with lots of roast almonds and cashews, shortbread biscuits, malt and toasty oak for added complexity. The palate is lively, with fresh acidity giving lift to peaches, limes, grapefruit and caramel; there is full body and firm tannin underneath, so the wine displays good length and there is just a touch of malt and toasty oak on the finish. Winemaker’s Notes
Another glorious, age-worthy Chardonnay. All the Moss Wood hallmarks of fastidious viticulture, fermentation and lees ageing in French barriques.

Beyond the tension, detail and sensual complexity, is a texturally beautiful, intricate and woven wine, all the threads coming together yet somehow separate. Add to cart Producer: HochkirchThe lieux-dit of Les Chevalieres is situated above the village of Meursault. Above is the lieux-dit of Les Luchets, which produces a higher toned, more tensile wine. I can’t help but think that this is ideally situated, in a sense, mid-slope, the perfect aspect in Burgundy. Impossibly complex, with notes of white flowers, lemon, lime, […]
