Extremely animated with white flowers, citrus blossom, lemon, white peach and nectarine. Pure, tingling and high-toned, the fruit and coiled structure walking a tightrope of perfect balance. Green apple, passionfruit, mint, pink grapefruit and juicy lime. Lovely mid-palate flesh, coupled with such intensity is the preserve of Chablis. Finishes with textural interest, chalky and saline. Stunning chiselled Chablis, delightful now and for at least 15 years. Waters Wine Co
Cool, very appealing nose with just a hint of ripe fruit, with some apricot character on the palate which is not at all over the top. Freshened by a line of citrus acidity, there is plenty of purity and concentration here, despite the lowly 12.5% alcohol. A fine Fourchaume which will age. 93 points, Andy Howard MW, Decanter
Gueguen’s Fourchaume is sourced from a small, west and southwest-facing plot of 45-year-old vines sitting at 155 metres elevation. The fruit was direct-pressed and naturally fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures. The wine went through full malo and rested on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 10 months.
