Eisenstone Ebenezer Shiraz 2021

$85.00

A brighter and more floral creation. Even though it has the Eisenstone signature traits of earth-driven, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, there are lighter moments and a smoother texture here, which means you can crack on relatively soon, which is a bonus! I think this cuvée gives me a few extra hints about what might happen to SV902 over the passage of time, and this bodes extremely well for the future. Matthew Jukes – 100 Best Australian Wines

SR902. Grapes were sourced from Adrian Hoffmann’s vineyard at Ebenezer in the northern end of the Barossa Valley. The blend is largely from the Micken block which is a younger planting on small red loan rise that is of extremely high potential. Depending on the year the blend also carries wine from the Dallwitz old vine plot.

The grapes were fermented in small batches and after fermentation was matured in 50% new French oak for 18 months prior to bottling. Minimal intervention is used in the winemaking process and the wine is moved the minimal times prior to bottling and is not cold stabilised or filtered.
