A 0.66 plot lanted in 1949, 1964, 2012 Clay/limestone gravelly soil with red clay. 100% de-stemmed, not crushed, ambient yeast fermentation, aged in barrels (0-15% new), no fining, no filtration.
‘ The 2021 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an attractive nose with crushed strawberry and raspberry scents, becoming more floral in the glass with aeration. The palate is lively with a fine backbone, slightly chalky in texture with a stern, minerally, quasi-Pommard-like finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Promising. Drink 2024-2038’ (89-9) points, Neal Martin, Vinous Jan 2023
‘Unwinding in the glass with aromas of plums, raspberries and peony, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered, enveloping mid-palate and a saline finish.’ (90-92) points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023
‘Glowing purple with a magically refined nose, showing a bit of hillside but with plenty of ripe fruit on the bones. Significant weight on the plate, a touch more austerity at the finish, more red fruit than black, very fine indeed. Tasted: October 2021.’ 91-94 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
‘ A super-fresh nose freely offer up is essence of red cherry that is trimmed in a beautiful array of floral elements. There is a pungent minerality to the attractively textured, plump and punchy medium weight flavors that conclude in a linear, youthfully austere and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This is firm enough to offer up to a decade of improvement. Drink 2029+ ’ OUTSTANDING! 90-93 points, BURGHOUND.COM APR 2024

A feature of Farrside is its combination of sweet and savoury spice, flowers and flavoured tobacco. An extremely exotic and singular wine, 2022 sees its uniqueness in the extreme. Fenugreek, cumin, violets, lavender, Turkish tobacco, red fruit compote and blackberry. Prickling with acidity, edgier and more angular than recent vintages, the Farrside’s savoury side on […]
Add to cart Producer: By FarrBeautiful pinot noir from Castle Rock, tasted alongside several older vintages, affirming their great aging potential. A difficult hot year 2023, it’s had to believe that such as pure, supple and translucent wine could be forged from such difficulty. Medium bodied, with the black and hedge fruits mashed with licorice, mace, fennel, pink peppercorns and […]
Add to cart Producer: Castle Rock EstateNatural cork. With both this cuvée and the wonderful Rugiens-Hauts, Leroux is back in Pommard with a bang. The 2019 is a blend of Les Vaumuriens (high on the slope) and Les Cras (on the lower slope), both vineyards lying on the Volnay side of the village. Leroux notes the cooler, hillside fruit from Les Vaumuriens brings freshness and balance to the blend. […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin LerouxThe 2021 Toolangi Pinot has a nice array of expression so early here that’s good to see! Rose petal spiced plum and strawberries with some crushed nutmeg on the nose. The palate exhibits similar flavour spectrum with some nice density to it, trademark Toolangi tannin to close but its fresh and ready to go! Fruit […]
