As always, the fruit for this wine comes from the plateau at Daix, near Marsannay. The vines sit at 400 metres, which brings freshness and purity. The very low yields contribute remarkable depth and age-worthiness. Even at this level, over 60% bunches were included, and only 5% new oak. This has always been a brilliant Bourgogne, and this is absolutely the case in 2021. A truly exceptional wine for the level.
“Five Star Wine. Glowing fresh purple with a brilliant super sensual bouquet, more angular in the mouth than some vintages but of a fruit quality and a gracefulness that is first class. I would buy multiple cases of this for myself if he would let me! Naturally higher acid spot so the whole bunches work well.” 89-91 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Read more Producer: Hughes & HughesThis is 100% estate fruit, 25% whole bunches were retained while the balance of the crop was destemmed. A wild ferment was in small open vats and the juice had about three to four days rest before some gentle foot-stomping and a daily plunge. Everything was pressed after 14 days into tank, and then gravity-fed […]
Add to cart Producer: HochkirchThis is a beguiling and dreamy wine. Translucent, deep ruby/magenta with a harmonious bouquet of dark, jubey fruit, subtle florals, spicy rolling tobacco and wet stone. The nose certainly promises a lot and the palate delivers in spades. Smooth, soft, full and ripe – red and dark cherries mingle with chalky, ultra-fine tannins with enough […]
