The Klamm, a Grosse Lage site, is situated directly adjacent to the Hermannshöhle. Its name is a very old word to describe the landscape, alluding to an incision in the craggy cliffs above. These vineyards are among the steepest found anywhere in the region, with extremely stony soils heavily comprised of volcanic porphyry mixed with black-grey slate.
