Theo Dancer Vin de France Alpestre Gringet 2021

$155.00

Dominique Belluard, who sadly passed away in July 2021, was arguably the greatest Savoie vigneron of his generation. His domaine, based in Ayze, is only about 50 kilometres from Mont Blanc and among his many achievements was his championing of the unique grape variety, Gringet—indigenous to the Alps. Gringet thrives at altitudes over 500 metres in the calcareous glacial moraines of the Haute-Savoie and, although it is more commonly used to make sparkling wines in this area, Belluard also crafted some stunning whites which have clearly inspired the Dancer clan. How Théo Dancer got his hands on these biodynamic certified grapes, and whether he will have the opportunity to again, we don’t know. Regardless, we are thrilled to have received a solid allocation of this stunning, mountain white.

Fermented and matured in both amphora and glass Wineglobe, you can expect a super-delicious, complex, racy and mouth-watering white, loaded with nuts, sea spray, ripe apple and even leather. It’s a marvellous wine that may never be repeated.
