Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2020

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes unwinds in the glass with scents of smoky pears and pear honey, framed by a subtle touch of reduction. Medium to full-bodied, round and fleshy, with a lively spine of acidity, it concludes with a mouthwateringly saline finish. 89-91 points William Kelley – Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

From three plots on the Puligny side, in Les Houillères, the upper part of En Journoblot and Les Beuttes. Cheerful sunny nose, some spice too, then good fresh lemon scented fruit with more weight behind. Evenly balanced across the piece, albeit with less personality than the best of the St-Aubin 1ers crus. 89-92 points Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
