A tiny 0.23Ha plot. First slope of Beaune, next to Clos des Mouches. Top of the slope planted with Chardonnay. Vines aged 37 years. Vertical press so pressing is very slow. Aged on only fine lees. 10% new oak.
‘There is one barrel of the 2021 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru Blanc this year whereas usually there are five. It has an attractive, well-defined bouquet with dried honey, grilled walnut and light fumé scents. The palate is well balanced with fine depth and more complexity than Lafarge’s Meursault with a judicious touch of spice on the finish. Worth seeking out. Drink 2023-2038. Tasted Jan 2023’ (89-91) points, Neal Martin, Vinous
‘Notes of pear, peach, white flowers and buttery pastry introduce the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots Blanc, a medium-bodied, taut and racy wine, of which only one barrel was produced.’ 90-91 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Feb 2023
‘One barrel only. Ripe fruit, a touch of bacon fat, then white stone fruit across the palate. Surprising depth behind with excellent acidity. Not quite a classical balance but there is a lot of wine here. Promising. Drink from 2025-2029. Tasted: October 2022.. 89-91 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

Excellent, fitting the mold of sleek, stylish yet powerful chardonnays that have captivated the chardonnay lovers’ community. Flinty with reductive notes, showing struck match, kaffir limes, sea spray, grapefruit and apple blossoms. The palate is taut and refined with a generous fruit profile. So distinctive and impressive. From ten small parcels of 20-60 year old vines. Les Tremblot, (“more Puligny in character, as the soil is argileous,” says Jean-Louis); Les Meix, Les Levrons (more rounded wine for there are more stones and gravel here and it is not so heavy), Corvée des Vignes and Les Reuchaux. These small vineyard holdings are all […]

I don’t normally like fizzes aged for long periods on lees but this, disgorged after five years, seems to have hit a sweet spot. Still very primary and super intense with pastry notes, butter, apple, almond cream, lavender, honey, grapefruit, lemon, lime, white peach and cinnamon. Fantastic intensity with great vibrancy, the acidity so lively […]

Preserved lemon, jasmine, brioche, green mango, lime, pineapple and apricot rise from the glass. Dense and almost full-bodied for Chablis, yet beautifully crystalline, with piercing focus, serious depth and an effortless flow. The palate layers yellow peach, grapefruit, lime, marjoram, tarragon, fresh hay and apricot, with a succulent, juicy texture that makes it immediately approachable […]
