Stunning bouquet, worried I might impale my nose on the glass. White and yellow flowers, mint, green apple, white peach, butter, lime and blackcurrant. Such a statement from Goisot combining vitality, weight of flesh, signature chalk and salt. Incredible complexity with some darker fruits of paw paw and apricot, dusted with fennel and rhubarb. Immense carry of seaweed, salty, mineral grip. Unbelievable. Puligny Montrachet meets Chablis. Waters Wine Co
“The 2019 Bourgogne Côtes d’Auxerre Gueules de Loup Blanc has a fragrant nose of orange pith, frangipane, pear and white Chinese tea, all very detailed and poised. The palate shows wonderful balance and real weight and density. Lightly spiced toward the finish, which feels composed and effortless, offering subtle pineapple and guava on the aftertaste. This is a brilliant wine from Goisot.” 93 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
