Something of Corsica here, with its contrast of dryness, savoriness and sweet red fruits. A rose of presence with discreet aromatics of raspberry, cherry, redcurrants and Middle Eastern spice. There is a great textural presence, woven with tangy fruit, the grapes picked earlier it would seem than the grenache for vivid freshness. Very refreshing and long, the subtle use of tannins lengthening the palate and contributing to the sense of moreish-ness. Waters Wine Co
Dylan Grigg is a talented bloke. He’s a viticultural wizz, having consulted in Australia and overseas for 25 years. Personally, I’m glad he’s tackling grenache with his young label. Salmon pink with fruit aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and ruby red grapefruit with hints of soft spice, marzipan, citrus rind, almond blossom, apple turnover and pressed wildflowers. Dry, savoury and very moreish indeed with pure red fruits, a stony, mineral acid profile and a dry, red-fruited finish. 93 points – Halliday Wine Companion
This Rosé is made from bush vines of Grenache and Mataro specifically managed with the intention of making a savoury, just ripe style of dry Rosé. These varieties are perfect for bush vines growing in sand, being upright growers and water wise. The grapes were picked by hand early and made to be textural and refreshing. The wine is just ripe, grippy, fresh and delicious – it almost doesn’t matter what the varieties are. Winemaker’s Notes

The second release of the MMAD Vineyard label, and off its 1939-planted Blewitt Springs vineyard. About 15% whole bunches, fermented in wood and steel, maturation in concrete and large old French oak. Unlike the 2022 shiraz, this takes time to emerge from the glass. It’s all there, though. There’s a brooding quality at present, with […]
Spicy, complex florals, red and dark fruits, fresh compost and pipe tobacco. Rich and full bodied, with thoroughly defined curves, dripping with fruit, draped in silk. Like the Wait, there is a lovely tension between the sweet and savoury elements, with curry leaf, bitter chocolate and the silk , morphing into fine, sandy tannins. A […]
Mostly Sangiovese, with smaller amounts of Shiraz and Montepulciano. I love that this isn’t trying to be Bandol or Provence, that it wears the Australian sun on its shoulders. Strawberry, raspberry, cherries and cream. Full flavoured and bright, packed with energy and zingy orange rind driving the finish. Absolutely lovely. Waters Wine Co
