Dolcetto is not known for it’s ageing potential, but I had a theory that Dolcetto aged in large format and not in steel could defy conventional wisdom. So I served this to myself and heathen friends who shouldn’t by rights ever like a wine like this. Beautifully fragrant with sweet raspberry, English Strawberry and redcurrant, with fresh lavender and mint. Beautifully composed and elegant, a deep core of sweet fruit, bolstered by silky tannins, sweet compost and gentle acidity. Gorgeous drinking and ageing well thank you! Waters Wine Co

Cavallotto’s single vineyard Dolcetto D’Alba Vigna Scot DOC 2020 hails from 2.3 hectares of 30 year-old vines located within Castiglione Falletto’s legendary Monprivato cru. These Dolcetto vines face east, meaning it is cooler and later ripening. On these great soils, the mature vines, low yields and traditional winemaking result in a layered, deep and remarkably serious Dolcetto. As always this is a Nebbiolo drinker’s Dolcetto and one that bats well above its station. Importer’s Notes
