Cantina della Stazione Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021

Dave Fletcher’s wines all possess a cool, savoury sleekness, but in the Barbera we find more flesh, mid palate weight and rounder shape. Perfumed and heady with bright. Dark, blue and bramble fruits. Some tertiary notes too of cocoa powder, Asian spices and turned earth. There’s a little more heft here and the tannins, savoury as always, but a little more resolved. Vibrant and deep, cleansing acidity, long and mineral. Versatile. We drank a bottle of this with Bistecca all Fiorentina, cooked over coals and it was perfect. Waters Wine Co
