Hereafter Here is what Chris Alheit calls a “young vineyard wine” although it contains older material from the Paardeberg and Tygerberg too. Blended with a splash of Semillon from Franschhoek, it’s a total bargain in the range, with a nice interplay of lees, beeswax and granite-derived structure and a touch of flinty reduction. 2024-29’ – 94 points, Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2024
Hereafter Here is a young vineyard wine. The great thing about planting young vines is that you can choose the site and the material purely for the sake of quality wine. Some of our favourite growers have already planted new vines, as will we on our own farm in the coming years. I find the idea of planting for the future very exciting! Our kids will have nice mature vines to work with. This is also a great space for us to nurture younger parcels that are very good but still too young for Cartology. This vintage contains parcels from the Swartland to Stellenbosch.

The 2021 Hemelrand Vine Garden is one of Chris Alheit’s biggest successes and encapsulates everything great about his wine. Initially quite neutral, it reveals wondrous sea spray, honeysuckle, Provençal herbs and hints of powdered chalk on the nose. The palate has exquisite balance, very cohesive and intense, yet the acidity keeps this so fresh with […]

A wine of quiet confidence, beautifully balanced between richness and finesse. Medium to full-bodied and wonderfully textural, it unfolds in layers of white stone fruit and delicate blossom, with a vibrant citrus core adding lift and energy. A fine saline thread runs through the palate, bringing tension and definition, while bright, mouth-watering acidity carries the […]

Flavours of melon, white peach and almond blossom and a hint of minerality that adds to the elegance of the wine. Masterfully oaked, this wine is textured and creamy on the mid-palate with a lively, crisp finish. 92 points, Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2025 Shop all South African wines

Made from mostly Garganega, with Trebbiano providing aromatic lift and structure. Quite succulent for a Soave, and softer, broader than the Classico. Melon, almonds, frangipani, lemon, apricot and white peach. Very easy to drink, with a perfect tension of zing and gentle texture to match with food, or not, it really doesn’t matter.
