A field blend of 60% Marsanne (64 year old vines) and 40% Roussanne (young vines) planted in granite soil at Les Vessettes, on the slope above the town of Chavanay. Fermented with natural yeasts in barrique with no battonage. Bottled after malo to retain the freshness imparted by the granite soil. Only 1600 bottles produced.
This sports a bright mix of yellow apple, green plum and white peach flavors that are fresh and racy, with light heather and salted butter notes lending an opulent hint through the finish. Drink now for freshness or cellar a touch for the more honeyed side. Drink now through 2020. 300 cases made. 93 points, JM – Wine Spectator, March 2018
