From one of the Hunter Valley’s most celebrated Semillon vineyards, the 2022 vintage is the 23rd consecutive bottling of Braemore Semillon under the Thomas Wines label. The Braemore Vineyard, planted in 1969, is situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, Pokolbin. Once an ancient sea floor, the deep, sandy loam soils are free-draining, allowing deep root penetration which is perfect for Semillon. The vineyard is universally considered to produce some of the finest examples of classic Hunter Valley Semillon and is particularly famed for producing wines of remarkable longevity.
Star-bright citrus fruits beam from the glass alongside swirling white floral perfumes, fresh-cut grass character and some mineral salts. Rocky drive and cutting acidity is seamlessly countered by flinty texture and a beautifull array of detailed and complex flavours. Clearly, this is set for the long haul, but it has so much going for it right now.

Sensual and suave, with flavours I haven’t found in a Vat 1 before. Just when I thought I knew what to expect! Preserved lime, fresh lemon, cream, kiwifruit, gardenia and honeysuckle. Subtle and very young. This seems quite open, but I feel this will shut down soon and be the better for it. A wonderful […]
Add to cart Producer: Tyrrell'sAromatic and complex nose of custard apple, preserved lemon, lime and white flowers. Plush, fleshy, pulpy palate, white and yellow peach, apricot, nectarine and dried herbs. Texturally complex, beginning lanolin like, before firming up and becoming chalky. Remarkably youthful, and delicious to drink now, but has decades ahead. Classic Hunter River Burgundy and the finest […]
Add to cart Producer: Tyrrell'sVery expressive with lime, butter, nettles, lemons, gardenia and grapefruit. This is very, very easy to drink. Plush and full, with incredible mid-palate flesh and lanolin texture. Pulp, round in shape, without ever losing focus or line. When tasting, very similar to Tyrrells’ Johnno’s Basket Pressed Semillon, and I understand the winemaking is very similar. […]
Add to cartStar anise, sweet English summer fruits, Bresaola, lavender and damp leaf. Sweet and tangy fruits, picked at the perfect moment, serpentine, supple, brooding and haunting. Every sniff and sip reveals something different. Serrano, blood orange, chocolate, Middle Eastern spice and long silky tannins that tighten along the finish. Exquisite balance, the wine in constant motion. […]
