The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc from Medhurst is very pale straw in colour, almost translucent. It has fresh and lively aromas of grapefruit rind, nettles, guava and honeysuckle. These combine with complex hints of toast and flint from the barrel fermentation. The barrel ferment enhances the primary fruit aromas and flavours of passionfruit and grapefruit. It’s supported by some mid-palate creaminess and refreshing chalky acidity.
