Domaine A Lady A Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Australia’s greatest Sauvignon Blanc, irrespective of style. Hedonistic and opulent, presumably full malo and aged in predominantly new French oak. That being said, the nose is incredibly expressive with exotic fruits of pineapple, pawpaw, kiwifruit, white peach and Jersey butter and cinnamon notes. Rich, medium to full bodied, the fruit is so powerful and deep, displaying great detail and control. Fresh and vibrant, with notes of grapefruit, preserved lime, dried apricot, gooseberry, lemon and pink lady apple. The oak’s discreet, integrated and absorbed by the sheer volume of fruit. Generous, with a gorgeous fluffy lanolin texture, and long silky close. Waters Wine Co

95 points – Campbell Mattinson, The Winefront

A slight decrease in the new oak used for Lady A continues to bear fruit, giving a warm vintage full opportunity to glow: a tropical, grassy nose— with hints of some creamy, bread-y lees character—still holds enough oak (cedar, vanilla) to balance well. The palate, as usual, is lush, broad and beautifully textured, with a bit of smoky, mid-palate flint and good acidity drawing into a long, baked-pineapple finish. Complex, ripe, and intense. Just how Lady A should be. – Domaine A

Producer Profile

Bubb + Pooley is a new wine venture created by the husband and wife winemaking team of Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley. Their first and subsequent releases were produced from purchased fruit sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Coal River Valley and the East Coast of Tasmania.

Sustainability and minimal impact underpin the approach at Bubb + Pooley – the fruit is hand-picked and there is minimal added sulphur to facilitate wild-yeast ferments and natural malolactic conversions. The wines are fermented in hand-crafted concrete vessels specifically designed to enhance the varietal.

All wines are bottle unfined and so are vegan suitable.
