Rieslingfreak No 8 Schatzkammer Riesling 2021

$35.00

Beautiful rendition of a German Kabinett riesling, and is near on a dead ringer for it. You can smell the sweetness of lime, lemon, grapefruit, white flowers and cherry. Not so much as tense, but an interplay of sweetness and acidity that is so well balanced. Pretty hard to resist on its own, but even better with spicy food. Waters Wine Co

Schatzkammer is a cabinet where Germen winemakers store their ‘treasured’ wines, and to me this is my ‘treasured’ wine. This wine is made similar to a German Kabinett style. The wine is low in alcohol (7.0% v/v) and high in acid and sugar. Looking at this wine, all I see is Polish Hill River. Granny smith apples, fresh cut grass, passionfruit, and the perfume of roses, similar to that of the rose garden in the front of my house. The sweetness of this wine brings you in, it invites you for the second, third and fourth sip. The low alcohol allows you to enjoy the wine, and entices you to open up the second bottle.
