From the east-facing part and based on the first pressing only, the 2018 Ayler Riesling Fass 3 opens nicely fresh and coolish on the still reductive and flinty-crystalline nose. Lush and piquet on the palate, with lots of citrus aromas and bitters in the stringent, linear, tightly woven and salty-grippy finish. This is a spectacular wine with 10% alcohol, yet this Fass 3 tastes significantly drier than Fass 4.
