Fritz Haag Riesling Feinherb 2022

$40.00

Essentially a feinherb in style, and a terrific introduction to the wines of Fritz Haag. Super complex with grapefruit, cherry, mango and guava. Bright and tangy, linear and direct in profile, flecked with herbs and subtle extract. Super long, the acidity and extract driving the carry and hold over the palate. Classic in style and could do with a few years in the cellar. Estate defining and total bargain. Waters Wine Co

‘A wonderfully youthful and joyfully aromatic Mosel riesling with all the floral charm we associate with the region. Barely off-dry with a freshness that makes you glad to be alive! Drink now. Screw cap.’ 91 points, Stuart Pigott, JS Wine Ratings, August 2023.

‘The 2022er Riesling is an off-dry wine (with 17 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit picked in Estate’s holdings in the Brauneberger Klostergarten, Burgener Römerberg, Mülheimer Sonnenlay, and Monzeler Kätzchen as well as from young vines from the Brauneberger Juffer. It offers a superbly engaging nose made of vineyard peach, whipped cream, and smoky elements. The wine proves subtly creamy and zesty on the palate and leaves a nicely fruity feel in the long finish. A floral side comes through in the long and quite playful aftertaste. Now-2032.’ 88 points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines, Issue 67, September 2023.
