Seehof Steingrube Riesling 2018

This is not a Grosses Gewachs, but there are very few vineyards as happily situated as this. Seehof has less than 2 acres of Steingrube, and this parcel sits below Abtserde, between Morstein and Kirschpiel. Steingrube is a large vineyard, and is does not have a uniform soil type. Seehof’s parcel is all limestone. To an extreme in fact, with rocks and boulders strewn throughout the vineyard. Rich and full bodied, lavish and extracted. A wine of tremendous volume, intensity and power. Grapefruit, green apple, yellow peach apricot and pear. The palate builds, with cut flowers, smoke, cake spice and blood orange. Rich, ripe acids power drive the finish. Perfectly balanced between richness and ballerina elegance. Giant killer. Waters Wine Co
