One of the “richest” wines of the Falkenstein stable, but this is so well cut and chiselled. Lemon, lime, apricot marmalade, white flowers, grapefruit, plum and some pine and petrichor notes. Medium bodied, waves of flavours and texture crash over the palate. But like I said, this is chiselled. Very coiled, packed with acidity and the carry, immense. Unbelievable elegance and power. Ethereal riesling. Waters Wine Co
The 2020er Krettnacher Altenberg Riesling Spätlese Trocken comes from 50-60-year-old vines in the Enkers part of the vineyard. It displays a beautifully flowery, spicy, and herbal nose of white peach, cassis, thyme, citronella, verbena, white pepper, and smoke. The wine develops finely zesty and flowery flavours on the superbly light and almost airy palate leaves a great sense of fruity smoothness in the nicely precise and zesty finish. The aftertaste has great focus and is packed with multi layered and superbly playful flavours. This is a great dry Riesling. 2024-2035. 92 points – Mosel Fine Wines, Issue 57
