“A classic Rheingau riesling that reminds me very much of the great wines of the 1970s, this has a great interplay of lemon-curd fruit with mirabelle and dried-herb complexity. Serious depth and concentration on the full-bodied palate, fine tannins and earthy structure exactly interlocked on the powerful and complete finish.” 95 points, jamessuckling.com
“Eva’s 2021 offers a deep, pure, intense and stony nose of ripe, lush and concentrated fruits intertwined with quartzite aromas. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated on the palate, this is— after being aerated—a finessed, saline and playful but persistent Riesling with lots of salt but also lush, ripe stone fruit aromas.” 94 points, Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
As the name suggests, this cuvée is a blend of fruit from more than one village: in this case both Eltville and Hattenheim, two villages that lie below Kiedrich. Several of the vineyards involved are certified first growth, and all the vines are aged over 30 years. Fermented wild, this Riesling spent seven months on lees before bottling.
