Chenin as Riesling. The 2017 Anjou Blanc from Thibaud Boudignon is utterly different from the ‘a Francoise’. Tighter, finer and more linear, the fruit profile is more citrus and white peach, rather than the yellow fruits of the ‘a Francois’. Rippling power and energy, the fruit really dominates with faint notes of lavender honey, nuts and sweet spice. Unique wine and is evidence of the multiplicity of style that Chenin can deliver. Make no doubt about it, this is a bargain and should not be missed.
