Vincent Dancer Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Tete du Clos 2019

$255.00

Only 30 bottles shipped to Australia. Followers of this producer will know that Tête du Clos is a sub-climate of Morgeot and one of this AOC’s very finest sites. Here, at the apex of the vineyard, bordered by La Romanée to the north and Les Embazées to the southwest, the soil is very rocky and white, giving a more mineral, tensile edge, yet also great depth. Dancer’s parcel was planted in 1954 and gifts a liquid-limestone expression of Tête du Clos. You can think of it as the Chassagne equivalent of Dancer’s Meursault-Perrières.

“This too is overtly floral with plenty of spice nuances to the mostly white orchard fruit aromas. There is better volume and equally good mid-palate density to the sleek, delicious and tautly muscular flavors that flash solid power on the focused, clean and refreshingly dry finale. This firmly structured effort will need at least a few years of patience and should reward up to a decade of keeping.” 90-93 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound
