Screwcap. This cuvée is a blend of two great terroirs the Mâconnais: Mâcon-Charnay and Guffen’s young vines in Pierreclos. As these particular wines do not strike Verget as especially Mâconnais in style, the blend is bottled under the Bourgogne appellation. In terms of the winemaking, one part was vinified in mature oak (50%) and the other in horizontal stainless-steel tank. There were no lees stirring here ‘so as not to mask the natural freshness of the wine’. With notes of white flowers, stone fruits and beeswax, 2020 gifts a delicious, pulpy Bourgogne with oyster shell and sea spray on the cool, enveloping finish. Again, a great drink and superb value.
