Tyrrell’s Vat 47 Chardonnay 2019

Honeysuckle, sunflowers, yellow peach, nectarine, grapefruit and grilled nuts. Full bodied and dense, with a deep core of fleshy fruit, dusted with savoury spice. One of the most open Vat 47’s we have tasted and the carry is very long with a pronounced mineral close. Absolutely delicious, and one of our favourite chardonnays from anywhere. Waters Wine Co

This is always a rewarding wine. A measured take on the Hunter’s proclivity for generosity finding confluence with chardonnay’s affinity for oak and (partial) wild fermentation. Tropical accents of canned pineapple and dried mango. Vanilla pod oak, nougat, nutmeg and cinnamon. A long, rich sluice of fruit. Oak on the edges. Will gain greater poise in a few years, but loads of fun already. 93 Points – Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion
