This wine shows white floral and lemon barley notes on the nose. Classic Tolpuddle backbone of acidity, yellow grapefruit, lemon pith, and some flinty minerality. A combination of lightness, delicacy, texture, and extract. A touch of lees derived shortbread flavour adds complexity. This wine has a great future.
In Tasmania’s south-east, the Coal River Valley’s climate is extreme for viticulture. Rainfall is low, with approximately 500mm per year. This cool but dry climate allows grapes to ripen slowly without disease pressure, resulting in grapes of great aromatic intensity. All fruit was hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, and fermented in French oak. The wine spent ten months in barrel with gentle stirring as required, then rested in tank on lees for a further 4 months. Fruit from 3 disparate vineyards from Merricks, Balnarring and Tuerong. It’s in the drink-me-now zone and neatly balanced. Full of bright citrus flavours, white stone fruit on the verge of ripeness, a spark of flint, smoky, a smidge of leesy texture, and saline, thirst-quenching acidity to close. 95 points – Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion […]

The sweet perfumed fruit gives way to nutty, oxidised tones that are intentional and at delicate levels that don’t overwhelm the fruit. The greatest pleasure comes from the palate, which is incredibly complex and downright moreish. Vibrant yet soft in texture, with saline […]
Add to cart Producer: Domaine OvernoyThe first cuvée to be harvested this year was the 2018 Saint-Véran Clos de Poncetys, a superb wine in the making that’s bursting with aromas of white flowers, citrus oil, fresh peach and crushed chalk. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with impressive concentration and precision. On the palate, it’s a […]
Add to cart Producer: Guffens-HeynenThe 2019 La Petite Mort Chardonnay is one of the best value whites on the market in Australia. It has everything you’d hope for in a Chardy, but with a touch of exoticism that sets it apart. Medium to full bodied, muscle and flesh clinging to the most perfect proportions. Textural, with a twist of […]
