At last, a Yarra pinot with weight and stuffing. Intense aromas of boysenberry, dark cherry, plum, five spice, cut flavours and wood. Medium, almost full bodied, with terrific freshness and lightness of touch, considering its power. Red and dark fruits, alpine herbs, slippery, satiny texture that firms to velvet. Bright and brooding, the wine is super young, balanced and the carry, long. Shall be very long lived. Waters Wine Co
There are 20% whole bunches in the mix here and they really pack a punch, enhanced by the 30% new French oak. Twigs, wood char, violets, cherries and pips, aniseed and more besides. Fuller-bodied sinewy tannins yet lots of sweet fruit. Needs more time to find itself. 94 Points – Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
95 Points – The Winefront
