$25.00
It’s getting tough to come across delicious wines at around $25, but somehow, year in, year out, Mount Macleod manages it. Pulpy lime, grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach. Medium bodied, a little bit of cream and spice, some orange blossom too. Lovely texture, slightly gripping, that melts and finishes bright and zesty. Irresistible. Waters Wine Co
Mount Macleod is the second label of the Burgundian-inspired Caledonia Australis. In their fairly short lifespan, they’ve carved a reputation as a fine source of excellent value, aromatically complex and elegant Chardonnay. Fermented naturally, the 2020 was raised on its lees for 20 months in old wooden barrels. Producer’s notes
