Fruit aromas are typical Moss Wood – ripe peach, combined with a zesty note similar to cumquat marmalade. These combine with lots of roast almonds and cashews, shortbread biscuits, malt and toasty oak for added complexity. The palate is lively, with fresh acidity giving lift to peaches, limes, grapefruit and caramel; there is full body and firm tannin underneath, so the wine displays good length and there is just a touch of malt and toasty oak on the finish. Winemaker’s Notes
Another glorious, age-worthy Chardonnay. All the Moss Wood hallmarks of fastidious viticulture, fermentation and lees ageing in French barriques.

Almost invariably the most sought after wine of the release, no doubt due to the fame of this vineyard. A real statement of Yarra cool, waving the flag for contemporary Australian Chardonnay, pioneered in the Yarra Valley. Almost Puligny like in it’s initial aromatic reticence and floral notes. But with a bit of warmth, comes […]

The fruit is whole bunch-pressed and ferments spontaneously before being raised in older barrels. This […]

Reductive notes of struck match, green apple, white peach , grapefruit, sweetened condensed milk, citrus blossom and white flowers. Cool tasting, spicy and long. A wine of linear shape and great drive. Some chalky minerality on the close adding textural, […]

Sourced from John and Josie D’Aloisio’s vineyard located high up on the hill above the township of Seville. The I10V1 clone Chardonnay was planted in 1991 on its own roots (non-grafted) and is grown on the stunningly rich red volcanic soils this subregion of the Yarra Valley is famous for. The fruit is hand-picked and […]
