If I was going to introduce someone to the rudiments and delights of Puligny, this would be the wine. From 10 parcels, scattered across the entire appellation, this really is an amalgam of the appellation. Medium bodied, floral, lightly spiced, a touch of oak, soft acids and discreet fruit. Beautifully elegant, with perfectly judged richness and extract. Chavy’s wines are noted for never being stylistically pushed in one direction or another. Certainly a benchmark village wine.
