Something special. The 2018 from Hughes and Hughes is full bodied, Tasmanian Chardonnay. A nose of orange and stone fruits follows through onto the palate. Balanced, textural, with a touch of vanilla. Lovely smoky, spicy oak.
Made with fruit sourced from a single vineyard in the Derwent Valley. Whole bunch pressed to oak (20% new). Fermented with Sauvage yeast (60%) and natural yeast (40%). Partial malolactic fermentation while maturing on lees ageing for 6 months. Bottled unfined and filtered.
