Lamy farms four small parcels on the white limestone soils of Les Chataigners. Tucked up at the far end of the village on the Finage de Saint-Aubin, this site is his highest and coolest vineyard, with vines planted in 1990 and 2008. The fruit is whole bunch-pressed and ferments spontaneously before being raised in older barrels. This is perennially one of the Côte’s most impressive Bourgogne-level whites, and it is worth noting that this year’s wine includes plenty of declassified 1er Cru fruit.
“A pretty freshness and with some florals too. Scale, silk, that’s like 23 too but with additional dry extract in this finish. Finishing strong and faintly chalky. Great wine for the label !!” Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
“The 2022 Bourgogne Les Chataigners is ample and fleshy, bursting with aromas of pear, ripe apples, white flowers and fresh bread. Medium-bodied, open and giving, it includes declassified juice from the final press fractions of Lamy’s top cuvées. This will drink well on release.” 89 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Immense, proportioned Chardonnay, but with a tingling freshness to match the creamy, nutty spiciness. Full bodied, with yellow fruits, grapefruit, orange blossom, lime and lemon zest. Flinty and funky; slight savoury note and a moreish chewiness. For those who never fell out of love with Chardonnay. Waters Wine Co Expressive nose of white grapefruit, white […]

Pale lemon colour, a little more flesh on the nose, pleasingly rounded, very stylish. Buy this without question. With time in the glass the Chablis minerality shows as well as the pleasing flesh.” 89 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy […]
Add to cart Producer: Bernard DefaixScrewcap. Unusually for a Petit Chablis, which generally comes from the lower-lying sites on Portlandian limestone, the lion’s share of this cuvée is drawn from a parcel of Kimmeridgian-based soil. Yet it’s not necessarily the type of limestone but more the location that makes the difference. The small Defaix parcel is well situated on the […]

The palate is fine, harmonious and svelte on the entry. This is a Perrieres demonstrating typical fine mineral nuance, though […]
