Slightly more reticent, but with time aromas of gardenia, jasmine, fresh, zest and preserved lemon and lime and grapefruit. Fleshier and more opulent than the Fourchaume, with greater weight and muscle. Softer and creamier, yet with typical Gueguen freshness and clarity. The Gueguen Vaillons is sourced from a small, southeast-facing plot of 45-year-old vines sitting at 180 metres elevation in Vaillons on clay/limestone soils. The fruit was direct-pressed and naturally fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures. The wine went through full malo and rested on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 10 months.
