Incredible bouquet, as powerful as it is complex. Yellow peach, fresh hay, cashew, nougat, white flowers and honeysuckle. To this you could add many more as it is so multifaceted and evolves incredibly in just a short time in the glass. Tightly wound and dense, a very rare combination in Australian Chardonnay. Butter, struck match, lime, grapefruit and yellow peach. Fleshy and tense, impeccably balanced and with immense carry. One of the great Australian Chardonnays. Classic Clyde Park, a statement wine of genuine grandeur, opulence and refinement. Waters Wine Co
P58 (Penfolds) clone planted ’95 on river flats, whole-bunch pressed, full solids ferment in French oak (30% new), matured for 8 months. As complex as it is classy, this could oh so easily be identified as Meursault (Burgundy) in a blind tasting. Top class stuff, with a layered, slightly funky, richness that expands on the finish. 97 Points – James Halliday
